ABOUT GREGORY J. WOOD
Greg has been litigating on behalf of business owners, employers, developers, commercial landlords, accountants, real estate professionals, and buyers and sellers of real property for over 18 years.
Mr. Wood’s career is marked by achievement. Mr. Wood is most well-known for his work respecting departing employees’ rights to solicit former clients. In the case Retirement Group v. Galante, 176 Cal. App. 4th 1226 (2009), Mr. Wood successfully represented investment advisors who left their old firm to form a new business, taking their clients with them. In the employment litigation arena, Mr. Wood is also known for his work defending small business owners against wage and hour claims, and getting good results in seemingly bleak situations.
Mr. Wood is a land use and CEQA expert. He represents owners of real property who have been denied permits by San Francisco City agencies. Mr. Wood recently spoke before the City and County of San Francisco Historic Planning Commission on the issue of a church’s right to alter and/or demolish its property without government interference.
When not working in the area of employment and real estate development, Mr. Wood manages the firm’s team of professional liability attorneys. Mr. Wood is panel counsel for the two largest insurance provides to accountants, CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company in Redwood City, California and CNA based out of Chicago. Mr. Wood’s team recently won a jury trial involving tax issues in San Francisco Superior Court, and specializes in defending accountants in employee embezzlement cases.
Mr. Wood’s received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he was a member of the San Diego Law Review. Mr. Wood has been named to Super Lawyer’s Magazine’s Rising Stars in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and a Super Lawyer in 2014 and 2015.
