ABOUT GREGORY J. WOOD

Greg is a partner who has been litigating in the Bay Area for twenty years. He is well versed in real estate, employment, securities, accounting and general commercial litigation.

Greg’s career is marked by achievement. Greg is most well-known for his work fighting for business partners and employees who have left to compete with their former employer. In the case Retirement Group v. Galante, 176 Cal. App. 4th 1226 (2009), Greg successfully represented investment advisors who left their old firm to form a new competing firm. In the employment litigation arena, Greg is also known for his work defending small business owners against wage and hour claims and getting good results in seemingly bleak situations.

Greg has recently been recognized for his success fighting for founders and high ranking employees in technology companies. The firm has successfully represented tech startup founders in cases against co-founders and investors who seek to freeze the founders out of expected profits.

Greg and his partner, Douglas, are both experienced and known locally for their work on behalf of developers against the City and County of San Francisco. The firm has done very specialized work related to the development of landmarked churches, by example only.

Finally, Greg manages the firm’s team of professional liability attorneys. Greg is panel counsel for the two largest providers of accountant malpractice insurance: CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company in Redwood City, California and CNA based out of Chicago. Greg’s team recently won a jury trial involving tax issues in San Francisco Superior Court, though the firm specializes in defending accountants in employee embezzlement cases.

Greg received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he was a member of the San Diego Law Review. Greg has been named a Super Lawyer every year since 2011.
